In 2004, Lauretta Lowell moved from Santa Barbara to Palm Desert, CA. During the 28 years she spent in Santa Barbara she worked for the Santa Cruz Island Foundation curating their extensive Plein Air art collection along with their private collection of contemporary artist Richard Diebenkorn's Channel Island Paintings.

2006-2008 Lauretta managed the Wentworth Gallery in Indio, CA. During her management, Wentworth Gallery had many successful exhibits showcasing talent from well-known California artists, the non-profit Desert Arc's first annual art show, and a show featuring 20 amateur artists from the Coachella Valley. Her rustic folk art was also shown in the gallery.

She has shown her assemblages and jewelry at Heusso Gallery, Palm Springs, CA and is currently in Old Town Consignment, La Quinta California, PK's Place (high-end home decor and fine apparel store) in Alden, Michigan, Art & Soul Gallery in Bothell, Washington, and in Gallery 873 in Ivins, Utah.  She will be participating in La Quinta's Art Under the Umbrellas (December 5, January 16, February 13, April 10 and March 27, 2010), and will also be an artist vendor at Gilda's Club Annual Luncheon, Boutique and Fashion Show, November 20, in the Westin Mission Hills Resort & Spa, Rancho Mirage, CA.

Lauretta has spent 20 years decorating home interiors, 5 years in graphic design, and 35 years as an independent artist. She has experimented in fabric design, assemblage art, batiking, graphic design, jewelry design, folk altar-art, acrylic painting, collage, murals, furniture refinishing and faux painting. Her work has been shown and sold in Oahu, Hawaii -  Michigan - Washington - Utah - Santa Barbara, Westlake, San Luis Obispo, San Francisco, and the Coachella Valley in CA. Her eclectic projects were influenced by travels to Hawaii, Mexico, Japan, Caribbean, Tahiti, Peru and Australia.  Upon viewing her unique pieces, you become aware of the importance of color, bold textures, found-art and especially whimsy influencing her Bohemian style of design.

Her companion of 9 years is her Corgi, Tank, and she has two sons who live in San Francisco. Her oldest, John, works as a graphic designer and her youngest, Patrick, is an entrepreneur.
